Prominent personalities to attend Naveen’s swearing-in ceremony

Bhubaneswar: A galaxy of prominent personalities including business leaders, doctors and artists will attend the the swearing-in ceremony of BJD President Naveen Patnaik as the Chief Minister of Odisha tomorrow.

Patnaik will take oath for a record fifth term as the Chief Minister at the Exhibition Ground here at 10.30 am, official sources said.

The industrialists who had participated in the Make in Odisha Conclave have been extended the invitation to attend the event. Kumar Mangalam Birla (Chairman of Aditya Birla Group), Jindal Steel & Power Ltd Chairman Naveen Jindal, ITC Chairman Sanjiv Puri, Apollo Hospitals Group’s Sangita Reddy, Tata Steel’s TV Narendran, Tech Mahindra CEO Chander Prakash Gurnani, Mindtree’s KK Natarajan, Dalmia Bharat Ltd’s Puneet Dalmia, Ramco Group’s PR Venketrama Raja are among some industry bigwigs will attend Naveen’s swearing-in.

Similarly, globally-acclaimed heart surgeon and Asian Heart Institute MD Ramakant Panda, Dr. Taraprasad Das and Dr. Subrat Acharya are likely to attend the swearing-in ceremony.

Besides, Padma Vibhushan architect and sculptor Raghunath Mohapatra, veteran Odia singer Prafulla Kar and Odissi dance exponent Priyambada Mohanty have also been invited to the ceremony.

Earlier, Patnaik has invited Prime Minister-elect Narendra Modi and leaders of different political parties and all elected MPs and MLAs have been invited to the swearing-in ceremony.

The BJD bagged 112 seats in the 146-member Assembly.

Patnaik is likely to take oath of the office along with 21 members of the council of ministers.
