Property list of Odisha politicians, babus to be put up in public domain

Bhubaneswar: With an aim to discourage corrupt practices among bureaucrats and politicians, Odisha Chief Minister and BJD President today announced people’s representatives from the party and State government officials will disclose their property list.

Addressing the party’s State Council meeting via video conferencing, Patnaik said all the people’s representatives from the party ranging from a Sarpanch to the Chief Minister will furnish their property list by the end of every year.

Similarly, the Chief Minister stated State government officials from ground level up to the Chief Secretary level will furnish their property list by the year end.

Details of the property list of the people’s representatives from BJD and government officials will be put up in the public domain, he added.

“The move will be a major step in curbing the corruption. Odisha will be the first state to take such a measure,” the Chief Minister added.

He further informed in last one year action has been taken against 91 corrupt officials of the State government.
