Puri administration restricts entry of outsiders to district

Bhubaneswar: Amid a spike in COVID-19 cases, the Puri district administration today imposed restrictions on the visit of outsiders to the district from Sunday till July 31.

Puri District Collector Balwant Singh said the administration will keep vigil on three entry points, Puri-Bhubaneswar, Puri-Astarang and Jagannath Sadak so that outsiders cannot enter the district.

Visitors without valid permission will not be allowed to enter the district. Only those who have emergency work will be given permission to enter Puri district, he said.

People have been advised not to go out of the district unless there is some urgency, the Collector added.

Till now, as many as 291 persons from Puri district have tested positive for the deadly virus.
