Puri: The proposed Puri International Airport will be established at Sipasarubali on 1000 acres of land, sources said today.
A six-lane express highway will be created to connect the airport with Bhubaneswar through roadway. The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has held a preliminary discussion with the Odisha Government in this regard, sources added.
A six-member technical team of AAI had yesterday visited the site. Notably, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had on January 1 written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking establishment of an international airport named after Lord Jagannath in Puri.
