Bhubaneswar: The Puri district administration and the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) have made elaborate arrangements for the smooth conduct of Debasnana Purnima ritual of Lord Jagannath and his siblings Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra on June 22 (Saturday).
The 12th century shrine will remain closed for the devotees from the midnight of June 20 to 11 am of June 21 for the Senapata Lagi ritual of the deities ahead of the Snana Purnima ritual, said the SJTA today.
The temple will be closed for the devotees soon after the Badasinghar Bhog ritual of Lord Jagannath and his siblings at around 12 midnight today. The devotees will be allowed to visit the shrine only after 11 am tomorrow, added the SJTA.
Notably, the three deities are given a ceremonial bath on the Snana Mandap of the temple on the occasion of Debasnana Purnima. They are later adorned with the Hati Besa (elephant incarnation) on the occasion.
