Puri King to embark on 5-week tour to UK

Bhubaneswar: Puri King Dibyasingha Deb will embark on his foreign trip to the United Kingdom for a period of 5 weeks.

Accompanied by his wife (queen), Puri Gajapati Maharaja will be visiting different Jagannath centres located at London, Dublin, Edinburgh, Manchester & Bath during his 5-week programme between April and May.

Odisha Society of Scotland will host the royal couple in Scotland from May 1 to 7.

A number of events will be organised at local temples as well as at Indian Consulate office with number of dignitaries in Edinburgh and Glasgow during the period, informed Ayaskant Pany, Executive member of Odisha Society of Scotland.

Edinburgh-based Odisha Society of Scotland hosts various events in Edinburgh and Glasgow showcasing Odia culture and tradition like Ratha Jatra, Utkal Diwas, Raja, Sabitri, Saraswati Puja etc. The organisation also supports a number of other events like Ugadi, Ganesh Puja, Durga Puja, Diwali organized by Indian communities.
