Puri Srimandir likely to reopen from Feb 1

Puri: As the state’s daily COVID-19 cases have started declining, the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) today may take a call on reopening of Srimandir for devotees.

Official sources said the centuries-old temple is likely to reopen for devotees on February 1.

Earlier this month, SJTA had closed the temple from January 10 to 31 keeping in view the steep rise in COVID-19 cases.

SJTA Chief Krishan Kumar will chair a virtual meeting of Chhatisa Nijog this afternoon to discuss on fresh COVID guidelines for the temple servitors, devotees and all concerned.
