Puri Srimandir reforms: SC defers hearing till March 5

New Delhi: The Supreme Court today deferred the hearing on Puri Srimandir reforms till March 5 due to unavailability of one of the judges Justice Arjan Kumar Sikri in the three-judge bench.

With deferment of the Jagannath Temple reforms case, the matter will be heard on March 5.

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court-appointed Amicus Curiae Ranjit Kumar has sought more time to file his response with respect to his recent visit to Srimandir and discussion with the temple administration and servitors for implementation of the reform proposals suggested by the apex court.

He submitted before the apex court that he had visited the Puri Jagannath Temple in Odisha on Feb 23 in compliance with the Top Court’s order.
