Several makeshift stall owners are among the arrested ones. Earlier, a total of 41 persons were arrested in this connection.

Puri police have already registered criminal cases against 15 persons, including Jagannath Sena convenor Priyadarshan Pattnaik and bandh organisers Binayak Dasmahapatra, Bhabani Dasmahapatra, Damodar Mahasuar, Somnath Khuntia, Gopal Panda and Prasanna Dash.

The accused have been booked under Sections 143, 144, 353, 147, 148, 120 (b), 341, 294, 323, 325, 506, 307, 332, 305, 149 and 34 of IPC.

Notably, the bandh in the pilgrim town on October 3 over demand of withdrawing the queue system for darshan of the deities in the Shree Jagannath Temple took an ugly turn with agitators uprooting the barricades raised for queue system, ransacking Sri Jagannath Temple Office, looting cash from donation cell, damaging vehicles in the temple office parking lot and metal detectors installed at all the four temple gates.
