Pvt hospital sealed in Odisha’s Sambalpur after patient tests COVID-19 positive

Sambalpur: The Sambalpur district administration today sealed a private hospital in the town for five days after a patient who underwent treatment at the healthcare institution tested positive for COVID-19.

After a woman from Sunapali area under Dhanupali police limits, who was treated at Sanjeevani Hospital located in Cheruapada for three days, tested corona positive, officials of the Sambalpur Municipal Corporation and police personnel sealed the private hospital.

Also, 32 persons from the hospital including owner Purusottam Agarwal were sent on quarantine. Most of the patients undergoing treatment at the hospital were discharged.

Patients who are in critical condition at Sanjeevani Hospital will be shifted to other hospitals with the help of the district administration, said a doctor of the private hospital.

So far, a total of 214 persons from Sambalpur district tested positive for coronavirus.
