An organization named 'Voice of common man' has drawn the attention of Puri SP Sarthak Sarangi towards the incident. The organization has lodged a complaint with the SP mentioning that a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) was filed in Orissa High Court seeking judicial intervention to clamp flying restrictions over and around the temple and declare the shrine as a ‘no-flying zone’.

A quadcopter had hovered over the temple in 2014 and managed to capture aerial videos and photos of the shrine. The videos and photos were later uploaded in YouTube and Facebook and did rounds on social media.

Following the incident, the Puri district administration was asked to ensure 24x7 patrolling at four towers around the temple. Currently, there is no such patrolling at the towers as a result of which the hovering of quadcopter over the temple on Sunday went unnoticed by police and district administration, sources said.
