Question paper leak: Odisha bans wristwatches, mobile phones to Plus Two exam centres

Bhubaneswar: In view of the allegations of question papers going viral on social media during conduct of the annual Matric Examination, the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) has rolled up its sleeves for a stricter vigilance during the Plus Two examination scheduled to be held from March 6 to March 28.

Speaking to media after a review meeting held at Secretariat here, School and Mass Education Secy Pradipta Mohapatra today informed that no electronic gadgets including wristwatches and mobile phones will be allowed inside examination halls.

He further informed that CCTVs have been installed at 936 out of total 1091 exam centres across the State.  Besides, candidates will be frisked twice before entering exam halls, he added.

“3.69 lakh students will appear in the exam. Question papers have already reached 202 examination hubs in first phase. The second phase question papers will be sent by March 11. Like that of Matric Exam, Plus Two question papers will be sent to exam centres in the morning of the exam day amid police security,” Mohapatra said.

While the exam for Science and Commerce streams is scheduled from March 6, the Arts exam will begin on March 7.
