Questions in Plus 2 Physics paper not out of syllabus, but choice deficit: Odisha CHSE

Arts, Commerce, Science and Vocational examination results of Plus 2 will be out in a single day.

Bhubaneswar: The questions in the Physics paper in the ongoing Plus 2 Examination-2024 were not out of syllabus, but there was a choice deficit, clarified Odisha CHSE over allegation of out-of-syllabus questions in the Physics paper that examinees attended on February 22.

Ruling out the out-of-syllabus question allegation, CHSE Examination Controller Ashok Kumar Nayak said, “Separate questions were prepared based on the syllabuses of Regular and Ex-Regular students for Physics paper. The questions for the Regular students were not out of the syllabus. Rather, there was a choice deficit for 19 marks.”

The Examination Expert Committee will review the issue and take necessary action, he said.

However, the examinees, who have attempted the questions, will be awarded the grace marks, he added.

Overall, the students have performed well in the examination. The lapses in preparing the questions for the Physics paper will be examined after the examination, the Examination Controller said.

He informed that the results of Plus 2 in all streams (Arts, Science, Commerce and Vocational courses) will be declared in a single day.

The Examination is scheduled to conclude on March 20 and the evaluation will be held from March 22. The results will be out by May 15. As many as 15,000 examiners will be deployed for evaluation of answer sheets. The evaluation will be made in two phases — from March 22 to April 2 and from April 4 to April 15, he said.
