Ragging at Burla’s VSSUT: Student thrashed by seniors inside hostel

Sambalpur: A second year student of Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT) at Burla in Odisha’s Sambalpur district was allegedly ragged by his seniors inside the hostel of the educational institution, last night.

The victim, identified as Anubhav Khamari, lodged a complaint in this connection with the Burla police. A case has been registered while further investigation by police was underway.

On the other hand, VSSUT authorities said action will be taken against those found guilty.

“I had gone to the ground floor of the hostel last night, during which 15-16 senior students intercepted me. They held my collar near the stairs, abused me and thrashed me. I sustained injuries in the attack,” said Anubhav, a student of Electronics and Telecommunication department of VSSUT.
