Raghubar Das to be sworn in as Odisha Governor on Oct 31

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik paid courtesy visit to outgoing Governor Ganeshi Lal at Raj Bhawan in the capital city.

Bhubaneswar: Newly-appointed Odisha Governor Raghubar Das is scheduled to take oath of the office on October 31.

Das, a former Chief Minister of Jharkhand, will arrive in the capital city here on October 29. He will be sworn in as the Governor of the state on October 31, sources said.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, meanwhile, paid a courtesy visit to outgoing Odisha Governor Ganeshi Lal at Raj Bhawan in the capital city here.

The Chief Minister wished a long and active public life for the outgoing Governor, said sources in the Raj Bhawan.

Lal had assumed the office of Odisha Governor on May 29, 2018. He completed his five-year tenure in May this year.

However, he continued discharging his duties as the Governor of the state as there was no announcement regarding his successor by the President of India.

Das was appointed as the new Governor of Odisha by the President of India on October 19.
