Bhubaneswar: All India Congress Committee (AICC) President Rahul Gandhi will visit Odisha again on March 8 and address two public meetings in Jeypore and Bargarh, informed Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee President Niranjan Patnaik.
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel is also likely to be a part of the public meetings, said Patnaik.
Issues of farmers, youths, dalits, women and tribals will be in the focus of Gandhi during the visit, he added.
This will be Gandhi’s third visit to Odisha this year before the upcoming Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in the state. He had earlier addressed a rally at Tomando on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar on January 24 and visited Bhawanipatna and Rourkela on February 6.
The focus of the Congress on western Odisha is quite evident after the party’s victory in neighbouring Chhattisgarh.
