Bhubaneswar, Jun 11:
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and Crime Investigation Bureau (CIB) today conducted joint raids at Puri, Bhubaneswar and Khurda Road stations of Odisha to unearth the ticket black marketing rackets.
The raids started simultaneously at all three places at about 9 AM today.
Even though the investigating officials refused to address the reporters, as per a source, the officials are looking into the involvement of Indian Railway officials in the ticket black marketing rackets operated by travel agents and middlemen.
While the cash counter and the ticket booking counters were raided by the investigating officials in all three stations, some of the Travelling Ticket Examiners (TTE) were questioned in Khurda Road station.
The officials also boarded some of the trains at Khurd Road junction to verify the tickets of passengers and cross check the tickets with ticket books of TTEs.
