Rain continues in Odisha; alert issued for more districts during next 4 days

Bhubaneswar: Western disturbance triggered moderate rain in western part of Odisha in last 24 hours. Under its influence, the rainfall activity is likely to occur in some other districts of the State during next 4 days.

According to Regional Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar, very light rainfall occurred at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Balangir, Sonepur, Bargarh and Sambalpur in past 24 hours. Such weather condition may prevail in these districts today too.

Besides, some other districts of Odisha are likely to witness thunderstorm activity accompanied with hail during January 12 to 14.

The MeT has issued yellow warning for following districts till January 14:

Jan 10-11: Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.

Jan 11-12: 1. Thunderstorm accompanied with hail very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Sonepur, Balangir, Boudh, Kalahandi and Angul.

2. Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh and Sonepur.

Jan 12-13: Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Nabarangpur, Malkangiri and Koraput.

Jan 13-14: Thunderstorm accompanied with hail and heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Balangir, Nuapada, Boudh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Nayagarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur and Kendraparda.

Meanwhile, the night temperature is very likely to rise by 2 degree Celsius to 3 degree Celsius during next 2 days across Odisha.
