Rain dance party turns nightmare for couple in Odisha capital

The rain dance party in a mall in Bhubaneswar turned ugly with a group of young men assaulting a couple and molesting the girl on Sunday night.

At 10 pm yesterday at the roof top party, a group of men led by the main accused Sanjay Kumar Mahapatra started making obscene gestures at a girl. When her boyfriend objected, a verbal feud broke which soon turned into a fist fight.

Mahapatra and some of his friends groped the girl and tore her clothes.  When they lunged at her  the frightened boyfriend held her tight to protect her.

Unable to reach the girl, the miscreants assaulted the couple. The mall bouncers could not stop the ferocious attack and police were informed.

Sahid Nagar police arrived in two PCR vans and a platoon of police force was used to bring the situation back to normal.

Meanwhile, Mahapatra and some of his friends slipped away in the mayhem and the police caught two of his accomplices, who have been detained for questioning.

After a written complaint was filed by the woman in the Sahid Nagar police station,  the police have started reviewing the CCTV footage of the mall.

Meanwhile, the police have registered a case against 20 persons and are further  investigating the case.
