Rain fury: Man dies in wall collapse in Cuttack

Cuttack: A 52-year-old man was killed in wall collapse today at Balisukri village under Kishorenagar police station in the district following incessant rain under the impact of a deep depression over northwest Bay of Bengal.

The deceased has been identified as Dinabandhu Maharana.

The incident took place early morning today when Dinabandhu went to the the kitchen after waking up. A portion of the wall of the kitchen room suddenly collapsed on him. Though his family members and neighbours rushed him to Raghunathpur hospital, doctors declared him dead.

Meanwhile, the regional MeT centre predicted that heavy rain accompanied with thunderstorm would continue to lash several places in north, south and interior Odisha in the next 24 hours.
