Rain likely in eight Odisha districts on Dec 11

Bhubaneswar: At least eight districts of Odisha are likely to witness light rain on December 11 (Sunday) under the influence of the remnant of cyclonic storm Mandous over the Bay of Bengal, said the IMD regional centre here today.

One or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal and Gajapati are likely to witness light rain on December 11. Dry weather is very likely to prevail over the remaining districts of Odisha, said the IMD in its evening bulletin today.

Dry weather is very likely to prevail over the districts of Odisha from December 12, added the bulletin.

The deep depression (remnant of the cyclonic storm Mandous) over north Tamil Nadu moved nearly west southwestwards with a speed of 9 kmph during past 6 hours, weakened into depression and lay centred at 1130 hours IST of today over north Tamil Nadu near latitude 12.7°N and longitude 79.3°E, about 30 km south-southwest of Vellore and 120 km east-northeast of Krishnagiri. It is very likely to move nearly west southwestwards and gradually weaken into a well marked low pressure area during next 12 hours. The system has no direct impact on Odisha, said the IMD.

There will not be any large change in minimum temperature (night temperature) over the districts of Odisha during next 4 to 5 days, added the IMD.
