Rain likely in several Odisha districts for 2 days: IMD

Bhubaneswar: Several districts of Odisha are likely to witness rain or thundershower for two days starting March 15, predicted the IMD today.

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Koraput, Malkangiri and Rayagada on March 15, said the IMD regional centre here today.

Similarly, light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Boudh, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput and Malkangiri on March 16, added the IMD.

The IMD has issued the Yellow warning of thunderstorm with lightning for one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Khurda, Cuttack, Jajpur and Dhenkanal on March 16.

IMD sources, meanwhile, said the highest maximum temperature of 38 degree Celsius was recorded at Malkangiri while the lowest minimum temperature of 15 degree Celsius was recorded at Phulbani yesterday.

The maximum temperature in capital Bhubaneswar was 36.5 degree Celsius yesterday. “There will not be any large change in maximum temperature (day temperature) over the districts of Odisha during the next four/five days,” said the IMD.
