Rain or thunderstorm likely in Odisha districts for next 5 days, dry weather thereafter

Bhubaneswar: Due to a trough of low in easterlies over southwest and adjoining southeast Bay of Bengal now lying over southwest and adjoining westcentral Bay of Bengal extending up to 1.5 km above mean sea level, light rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Odisha during the next five days, India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasted today.

In its mid-day bulletin, the IMD regional centre said, “Minimum temperatures observed appreciable rise at a few places over the districts of Interior Odisha and no large change at elsewhere over the districts of Odisha. They were appreciably above normal at a few places over the districts of Interior Odisha, above normal at many places over the districts of Coastal Odisha, at a few places over the districts of Interior Odisha and normal elsewhere over the districts of Odisha.”

The highest maximum (day) temperature of 34.4°C was recorded at Paradip and the lowest minimum (night) temperature of 16.8°C was recorded at Nabarangpur in the plains of Odisha.

For Thursday (Valid up to 0830 hrs IST of 03.11.2023)

Light rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Ganjam, Gajapati, Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Nabarangpur and dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.

For Friday (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 03.11.2023to 0830 hrs IST of 04.11.2023)

Light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of North Coastal Odisha, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Angul, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Khurda, Puri, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Kandhamal and at one or two places over the rest districts of Odisha.
