Rain, thundershower likely in these Odisha districts from February 3

Bhubaneswar: The Regional Meteorological Centre forecasted rain along with thundershower in north interior districts and Sonepur district of the State from February 3, 2022.

Weather Scientist Sanjeev Dwivedi said light to moderate rain and thundershower are very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of North Interior Odisha and Sonepur. He added dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest districts of the State. The forecast will be valid from 8:30 AM on February 3 to 8:30 AM on February 4.

Dwivedi also said there is likely increase in intensity in rainfall for the subsequent two days.

While forecasting weather for next five days, the meteorological centre said dry weather is most likely to prevail over the districts of Odisha till 8:30 AM on January 31, 2022. Yellow warning has been issued for Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Bargarh, Nuapada, Balangir, Sonepur and Kalahandi districts where cold wave condition is very likely to prevail.

From 8:30 AM of January 31, 2022 up to 8:30 AM of February 1, 2022, dry weather is most likely to prevail over the districts of Odisha. Shallow to moderate fog is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of coastal Odisha, Kandhamal, Koraput, Malkangiri and Rayagada.

From 8:30 AM of February 2, 2022 up to 8:30 AM of February 3, 2022, yellow warning has been issued for Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Gajapati, Ganjam, Khordha, Puri and Nayagarh districts where dense fog is very likely to occur.

The meteorological centre further informed dry weather is most likely to prevail over the districts of Odisha. Shallow to moderate fog very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Coastal Odisha, Dhenkanal, Angul, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Koraput and Malkangiri.

“No large change in minimum temperature (night temperature) during next 24 hrs and gradual rise by 3 to 5 degrees celsius thereafter over the districts of Odisha,” the meteorological centre stated in the weather bulletin.
