Rain, thunderstorm likely in these Odisha districts by tomorrow morning

The IMD issues orange warning for six districts

Bhubaneswar: The IMD has predicted rain or thunderstorm in several districts of Odisha by tomorrow morning.

The IMD regional centre here has issued an orange warning of thunderstorm with lightning, hail and gusty surface wind reaching 40-50 kmph at one or two places over the districts of Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal and Kalahandi in Odisha by 8.30am of May 21 (Sunday).

“The thunderstorm and gusty winds may cause damage to some loose/unsecured structures and break tree branches. The people are advised to keep watch on the weather condition and take shelter at safer places,” said MeT department in its weather bulletin.

As per the prediction, thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Nuapada, Nabarangpur and Malkangiri by tomorrow morning.

Similarly, light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Balasore, Nuapada, Kalahandi and at one or two places over the remaining districts of Odisha by 8.30am of May 21, said the IMD.
