Rain to lash these Odisha dists during next 5 days; thunderstorm, hailstorm alerts issued

Bhubaneswar: Several places of Odisha are likely to witness rain during next five days under influence of western disturbances.

According to regional meteorological centre of IMD, the rain is likely to occur at many places in coastal, southern, western and northern regions of the state till March 30.

The Bhubaneswar MeT forecast light to moderate rain/thundershower at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kalahandi, Nuapada and Nabarangpur during next 24 hours.

The yellow warning of thunderstorm with lightning has been issued at one or two places over the districts of Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati and Mayurbhanj during the period.

Between March 26-27

Forecast: Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Malkangiri and Koraput and at one or two places over the rest districts of Odisha.

YELLOW WARNING:

1. Thunderstorm with lightening and gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Jajpur, Balasore, Bhadrak, Angul, Dhenkanal, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Ganjam, Gajapati, Nayagarh, Khordha and possibility of Hailstorm at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Ganjam and Gajapati.

2. Thunderstorm with lightening very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Sundargarh, Kalahandi, Malkangiri and Koraput

Between March 27-28

Forecast: Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Mayurbhanj and at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Boudh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar and Nabarangpur and Dry weather likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.

YELLOW WARNING:

Thunderstorm with lightening and gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati and Mayurbhanj.

Between March 28-29

Forecast: Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Coastal Odisha, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur and Dry weather likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.

Between March 29-30

Forecast: Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Coastal Odisha, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Koraput and Dry weather likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.

However, there will be no large change in maximum temperature during next 4-5 days in Odisha.
