Rain to pound these Odisha districts today

Bhubaneswar: Regional Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar, issued rain and thunderstorm warning for several districts today.

While thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Coastal Odisha, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, hail storm and heavy rain very likely to take place at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Balsore, Bhadrak, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagasinghpur, Ganjam, Jajpur.

Yellow warning has been issued for one or two places over rest of the districts where thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph very likely to occur today.

Also, light to moderate rain or thundershower is on the cards for most of the places over the districts of North Odisha and South Odisha.

Such weather condition may prevail across Odisha till April 29 morning.

Since yesterday, heavy rainfall caused inundation in many parts of Odisha. While Phulbani received the highest rainfall of 124.4 mm followed by Sonepur (91.8 mm) and Boudh (85.3 mm), Balasore reported 72.2 mm rainfall, Bhubaneswar 64 mm, Angul 64 mm, Baripada 15 mm and Nayagarh 44 mm rainfall in the past 24 hours.
