Bhubaneswar: With no significant synoptic system lying over the region, rainfall activities are very likely to occur at one or two places over several districts of Odisha till May 19. The IMD regional centre in Bhubaneswar today issued Yellow alert for next five days.

In its mid-day bulletin, the IMD mentioned, “Maximum temperatures observed marked rise at a few places over the districts of North Coastal Odisha and at one or two places over the districts of North Interior Odisha, appreciable rise at a few places over the districts of North Interior Odisha and at one or two places over the districts of Coastal Odisha and South Interior Odisha and no large change at elsewhere over the districts of Odisha. They were below normal at many places over the districts of Interior Odisha, above normal at one or two places over the districts of Coastal Odisha and normal at elsewhere over the districts of Odisha.”

Temperature forecast: No large change in Maximum (day) temperature during next three to four days at many places over the districts of Odisha.

The highest maximum temperature of 43.0°C was recorded yesterday at Nuapada. The lowest minimum temperature of 18.0°C was recorded at Angul in the plains of Odisha.

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Coastal Odisha, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput, and at one or two places over the rest districts of Odisha.

Yellow Warning: (Be Updated)-

Thunderstorm with lightning accompanied by gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 KMPH is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, and Mayurbhanj.

Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Rayagada, Koraput, Ganjam, Gajapati, Puri, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, and Bhadrak.

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of Coastal Odisha and at a few places over the districts of Interior Odisha.

Thunderstorm with lightning accompanied by gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 KMPH is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, and Gajapati.

Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Nayagarh, Kendrapara, Jajpur, Bhadrak.

Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Subarnapur, Boudh, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, and Malkangiri.
