Bhubaneswar: Rainfall activity is very likely to go up across Odisha from July 29, predicted the IMD in its weather report today.
The well marked low pressure area over south Odisha adjoining north Andhra Pradesh and neighbourhood has weakened into a low pressure area over the same region, said IMD regional centre chief HR Biswas today.
Under the influence of the low pressure area, rainfall activity is very likely to increase across Odisha from July 29. The trend is likely to continue for the next four-five days, Biswas added.
July 29: As per the IMD prediction, heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bargarh, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Angul, Boudh, Sonepur, Bolangir and Kalahandi on July 29.
Similarly, light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at most places over the districts of Odisha on the day, predicted the IMD.
July 30: One or two places over the districts of Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Bolangir, Bargarh, Sonepur, Sambalpur, Angul, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Cuttack, Keonjhar, Jajpur, Bhadrak and Kendrapara may witness heavy rainfall on July 30, said the IMD.
Besides, light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at most places over the districts of Odisha on the day, it added.
July 31: According to the IMD, heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nabarangapur, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Bolangir, Bargarh, Sonepur, Kandhamal, Jharsuguda, Angul, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara and Dhenkanal on July 31.
Besides, light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at most places over the districts of Odisha on the day, said the IMD forecast.
