Bhubaneswar: Several parts of Odisha are likely to experience heavy rainfall today as a depression has formed over the Bay of Bengal.

"The system is likely to intensify further into a Deep Depression and move northwestwards and cross Bangladesh coast near Khepupara around evening of today. Thereafter, it is very likely to move west-northwestwards across Gangetic West Bengal during subsequent 24 hours," the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said in its morning bulletin.

The Regional Meteorological Centre here has issued heavy rainfall warning for the following districts of Odisha for today.

Heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Sonepur, Boudh, Sundargarh, Cuttack and Balasore, the Meteorological Centre predicted and issued Orange Warning for these districts.

Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Nayagarh, Khurda, Puri, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Bolangir and Nuapada, the Meteorological Centre added and issued Yellow Warning for these districts.
