Bhubaneswar: Rainfall may play spoilsport in Durga Puja celebrations in Odisha this year as the Regional Meteorological Centre here forecasted that rainfall activity is likely to increase in the state from October 1.
A cyclonic circulation is likely to emerge into northeast and adjoining eastcentral Bay of Bengal around October 1, the Meteorological Centre said.
It has also issued thunderstorm and heavy rainfall warning for several districts of the state.

September 27: Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal, Kandhamal, Rayagada and Koraput.
September 28: Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput and Malkangiri.
Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Kandhamal and Ganjam
September 29: Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Mayurbhanj, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Malkangiri and Koraput.
Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts Gajapati, Malkangiri and Koraput.
