Rainfall may resume across Odisha as low pressure likely to form around September 20

Bhubaneswar: After a brief lull, Odisha may experience incessant rainfall again as a fresh low pressure area is likely to form over the Bay of Bengal around September 20.

An upper air cyclonic circulation is likely to form over northwest and adjoining westcentral Bay of Bengal around 18th September. Under its influence, a low pressure area is likely to form over the same region during the subsequent 48 hours, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasted.

The Regional Meteorological Centre here has predicted that south Odisha is likely to experience rainfall from September 18 while the entire state may experience similar weather condition from September 19.

On the other hand, the IMD in its ‘North Indian Ocean Extended Range Outlook for Cyclogenesis’ said that another cyclonic circulation may form over central Bay of Bengal during the beginning of week 2 (September 23-29).
