Rainfall to decrease in Odisha from today; Fresh cyclonic circulation likely around Sept 18

Bhubaneswar: Intensity of rainfall is likely to decrease in Odisha from today, the Regional Meteorological Centre here forecasted.

However, the state is likely to experience rainfall from September 18 due to formation of a cyclonic circulation over the Bay of Bengal.

“An upper air cyclonic circulation is likely to form over North Bay of Bengal off north Odisha-West Bengal coasts around 18th September, 2022. Under its influence, rainfall activity is likely to increase over East India & central India,” the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said in its morning bulletin today.

On the other hand, the Meteorological Centre has predicted that several districts of Odisha are likely to experience thunderstorm today.

“Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Angul, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Cuttack and Ganjam,” the Meteorological Centre said and issued Yellow Warning for these districts.
