Bhubaneswar: The incessant rainfall as predicted by India Meteorological Department (IMD) is likely to mar the festive mood during Dussehra this year.
As per the MeT prediction, the cyclonic circulation developed over the Bay of Bengal adjoining north Andaman sea is likely to intensify gradually after reaching Andhra coast by September 27. Later, it is expected to form into low pressure following which Odisha may experience continuous rainfall in southern, northern and coastal part.
The MeT predicted that the rain may continue till October 1.
Although, the cyclonic circulation developed over the Bay of Bengal caused rainfall and thunderstorm in parts of the State, it will be formed into low pressure in next two days, said Bhubaneswar MeT Director Sarat Sahu.
As per the weather forecast if the cyclonic circulation will be developed into low pressure by September 27, heavy rains will spoil the Dussehra celebrations especially on September 28, 29 and 30.
