More rains in Odisha over next 48 hours

Rain or thundershower would occur at most places over Odisha during the next 48 hours while heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely at one or two places over North and Odisha in the next 24 hours, the Meteorology department said this afternoon.

Gusty surface wind speed reaching 35 to 45 kmph gusting to 55 kmph may prevail along and off Odisha Coast, the Met department said.

Yesterday’s low pressure area over Northwest Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood now lies as a Well Marked Low Pressure Area over the same region at 0830 hours IST today, the Met bulletin released shortly after noon today said.

Fishermen have been advised to be cautious while venturing into sea.
