A college student from Raipur in Chhatisgarh was allegedly gang-raped here by a group of unidentified people on Friday night, sources said on Saturday.RAPE

Sources said the  young victim of sexual assault filed an FIR with the local Mahila Police on Saturday evening.

Reports said the college student who hails from Gudiali area in Raipur in Chhatisgarh was in Odisha for sight-seeing. She was waiting at the railway station to board a train to  Puri when she was waylaid and raped by a group of people at a spot close to the station.

The young woman has been sent to the SCB Medical College & Hospital for medical tests and treatment, a source in the city police said.

The source which refused to share details said the effort to identify and nab the culprits is on.
