Bhubaneswar: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Union Home Minister Amit Shah are set to visit Odisha to strengthen the BJP's position for the upcoming Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in the state.

Vijaypal Singh Tomar, the BJP's election in-charge for Odisha, informed that Rajnath Singh will be in the state on May 8 to support party candidates during the campaign. He is expected to speak at an election rally in Rayagada.

Similarly, Amit Shah will visit Odisha on May 12 to boost the BJP's election campaigning. This will be his second visit to the state since the party officially launched its campaign for the elections.

This apart, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to reach the state today and address two public meetings tomorrow.

As per the itinerary, Modi will reach Bhubaneswar Airport in a special aircraft at around 9.30 pm. He will spend night at the Raj Bhawan here after having dinner with several senior BJP leaders.

Tomorrow, the PM is scheduled to visit the Lingaraj Temple here in the morning, after which he will head towards Berhampur in a helicopter.

He will address a public meeting at Kanisi on the outskirts of Berhampur. Modi will later attend another public meeting in Nabarangpur.
