Rape accused escapes from police custody in Odisha

Sakhigopal: A man, accused of raping a minor girl, escaped from police custody in Sakhigopal of Puri district today afternoon.

The accused, Ganesh Bhoi of Dasbidyadharpur village under Satyabadi police station limits was brought by police to the Sakhigopal Community Health Centre for medical examination following his arrest.

But, Ganesh fooled the police personnel accompanying him and escaped from their custody.

Till the filing of this report, police were yet to nab the accused.
