Sambalpur: Authorities of Sambalpur Sadar Hospital have terminated agreement with security agency G5S after one of its security guards was arrested for allegedly trying to rape a 3-year-old girl at the medical.

Informing about it, Sambalpur CDMO KK Gupta said the security guards of the agency will be deployed at the hospital till completion of new tender process.

On the other hand, Health Minister Pratap Jena said, "Had I been asked to comment on the incident not as a minister, I would have said that he (the accused) should be shot dead. We have ousted the outsourcing agency through which the security guard was appointed at the hospital."

"We also want to warn other outsourcing agencies that if any employee of theirs gets involved in such kind of incident at other places in future, we will hold the concerned agency responsible for the matter," the minister said speaking to reporters.

Notably, the arrested security guard, identified as Sujit Rana (22), had allegedly lured the girl to go with him while she was present near her mother at the hospital on December 26 night.

The family members of the girl had lodged a complaint at Sambalpur Town police station, on the basis of which a case was registered.

Rana was arrested after examination of CCTV footage of the hospital in which it was evident that the girl had gone with him.
