Rare barn owls rescued in Odisha

Balipatna: The Forest personnel today evening rescued three rare baby barn owls from a place near Abhayamukhi village under Balipatna block.

“We have rescued the three rare baby barn owls from a village under Balipatna block and sent them for medical examination. However, we are yet to take a decision on whether to release the rare baby barn owls in wild or send them to a zoo,” said a Forest official.

Initially, some youths from the village heard the hooting today afternoon. Upon close examination they spotted the three baby barn owls under the Kushabhadra bridge. They later informed the Forest personnel about the rare baby birds.
