Bhubaneswar: A very rare bird Peregrine falcon, which was rescued in Semiliguda in Koraput district, is now added as a new member at Nandankanan zoological park in Odisha capital.
The veterinary experts and professionals have started research on the bird after it reached here yesterday.
Few days back, Peregrine falcon was rescued from a road near Semiliguda press club and handed over to the forest department.
As the bird was found to be a very rare species and usually it was not spotted in Koraput, the forest department communicated with Nandankanan authorities. The experts in the zoological park identified the bird as Peregrine falcon.
The bird was deported to Nandankanan by a car after undergoing treatment in Semiliguda.
