Rath Yatra controversy: Odisha Speaker calls all-party meet today

Amid the ongoing row over touching the three deities atop the chariots during Rath Yatra in Puri scheduled on June 29, Speaker of the Odisha Assembly Niranjan Pujari has called an all-party meeting at 5.30 PM today.

The directive of the Speaker has come in response to the demand made by the Leader of the Opposition and senior Congress leader Narasingh Mishra in the State Assembly yesterday.

The issue was raised by BJP members Basant Panda and KV Singhdeo earlier and Samir Das of the BJD today in the House.
