Ratha Jatra: Adapa Mandap Bije rituals to be held today

Puri: After an overnight stay on respective chariots in front of the Gundicha Temple during 9-day Ratha Jatra, the Adapa Mandap Bije rituals of Lord Jagannath and His siblings will be held before today evening.

The idols will be taken from the chariots to the Adapa Bedi inside Gundicha Temple, where the Chaturdhamurti will give darshan to devotees during Ratha Jatra also known as Nabadinatmaka Jatra.

According to Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) sources, the Lords will be seated on Adapa Mandap by evening. The devotees will have darshan of deities on Adapa Bedi afterwards.

The chariot pulling during annual Ratha Jatra of Lord Jagannath was successfully held in Puri yesterday. After two years of hiatus owing to Covid pandemic, the spiritually soaked devotees in large number congregated on Bada Danda to have glimpse of deities atop the chariots.

Amidst sounds of conch, cymbals, gongs and Mridanga reverberating entire atmosphere and with chants of Haribol and Jay Jagannath by devotees, three juggernauts rolled on the Grand Road from Singhadwar and reached the Gundicha Temple ahead of the schedule.
