Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi sought the cooperation of all Sevayats (servitors) of Jagannath temple in Puri, in a review meeting held here today with Chhatisa Nijog ahead of Ratha Jatra. The Chief Minister urged the servitors for smooth conduct the car festival of the sibling deities.

This year’s car festival has a rare coincidence, as three special rituals are to be performed in a day. Hence, smooth and peaceful conduct of the Ratha Jatra is of prime importance, the CM stated.

“Coming from a common family, I could become a Chief Minister by the blessings of the Lord. All this was desired by Him. The State, the country, and the world run by the virtue of His blessings. I hope that the Ratha Jatra will be held smoothly and peacefully with your (the servitors) cooperation this year,” Chief Minister Majhi said to all members of the Chhatisa Nijog in the review meeting.

In turn, Chhatisa Nijog also assured the CM of their wholehearted cooperation. Chhatisa Nijog thanked the CM for the corpus fund of Rs 500 Crore, which was announced earlier. The new government’s sense of belongingness has deeply moved them, the servitors expressed.

The high-level review meeting was conducted at the State Guest House in Bhubaneswar.
