Ratha Jatra tragedy: Chariot runs over minor boy in Odisha

Khordha: A minor boy was crushed to death by the chariot during Ratha Jatra festivities in Palatana ground of Banapur in Balugaon, today.

The deceased has been identified as eight-year-old Sunil Patra alias Pandya, a resident of Chianga village in Banapur.

According to sources, he slipped while pulling the chariot and his head was run over by the chariot wheel.

He rescued by the onlookers and rushed to the nearest hospital and later shifted to AIIMS in Bhubaneswar in a critical condition, where he succumbed to his injuries.
