Cuttack, July 23:
The ongoing agitation of Ravenshaw University students against fee hike and other issues in front of the Administrative Block in Odisha's Cuttack continued for the second day today.
The students are protesting against the hike in hostel development fee by the university authorities and its pro-self-financing course attitude.
"We demand a rollback of the hike in hostel fee, withdrawal of collection of no meals and compulsory meals charge from hostel intimates and introduction of new regular courses against new self-financing courses," said a protesting student.
Notably, the protesters had detained some authorities of the varsity yesterday leading to a scuffle with police in the evening.
Late in the night, police had allegedly forced agitators to call off the strike following which a scuffle ensued between police and agitating students.
Meanwhile, varsity administration has written to Cuttack DCP seeking inquiry into the police action last night.
As tension prevails on the campus, one platoon police force has been deployed to avoid any untoward situation.
