New Delhi, Mar 23:
Odisha BJP MLA Dilip Ray today demanded Prime Minister Narendra Modi to grant the super specialty hospital status for Ispat General Hospital (IGH) in Rourkela.
Ray met PM Modi at Sansad Bhawan in New Delhi and handed over a letter mentioning about delay in construction work on second bridge over Brahmani River.
In a letter to PM, the Rourkela MLA also mentioned about the delay in development of Biramitrapur-Barkote National Highway (NH).
There is delay in various developmental programmes in Rourkela even after announcement by PM Modi, Ray wrote.
He said that the commitments made by Modi on April 5, 2014 and later on April 1, 2015 during his visit to Rourkela, have not been met.
I had met Union Ministers including Nitin Gadkari, Bandaru Dattatreya, Dharmendra Pradhan and Jual Oram regarding construction of Brahmani bridge and IGH, but there is no progress yet, he said.
Earlier, there were 107 doctors at IGH. After retirement of senior doctors, the number is on decline. The patients are compelled to go to other hospitals outside state due to shortage of experienced doctors at the hospital in Rourkela, he added.
