Rays Power Infra to set up 1 MW power plant in Odisha for SAIL

Bhubaneswar, Aug 7:

Rajasthan-based Rays Power Infra Pvt Ltd (RPIPL), an ISO 9001 & 14001 certified company and the largest private solar park owner in the country, has bagged the tender of 1 MW solar power project in Sundaragrh district of Odisha for the Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL).

The project would be set up over four acres of land inside the premises of the Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP).

As per the agreement, Rays Power Infra would provide all services regarding engineering, procurement and construction on turnkey basis. The construction of the project, expected to begin in October, will be completed within four months.

RPIPL has bagged this contract worth Rs 7 crore from among seven EPC providers in India on technical grounds.

Speaking on the occasion, Ketan Mehta, director (operations) RPIPL, said, “We feel extremely proud to be associated with SAIL. As part of our solar plan this fiscal, we are confident in making solar power available to both the urban and rural areas as well as commercial sector in Odisha. We are working towards making our solar presence felt in homes, offices, institutions like schools, colleges, government buildings, hospitals, commercial establishments etc. in the state. Keeping the present energy crises and ever increasing difference between power generation through non-renewable sources and its consumption, solar energy is going to play a major role in fulfilling this gap in the near future.”
