Middle order batsman Amabati Rayudu and spinner Akshar Patel are the two new faces in the 15-member Indian squad announced by the BCCI selection committee for the World Cup beginning in Australia and New Zealand next month this afternoon.
Yuvraj Singh, who played a stellar role in India winning the last World Cup held in the subcontinent, was discussed but did not make the cut in the end, BCCI secretary Sanjay Patel said briefing media persons about the team selection here. .
There were no major surprises in the rest of the squad announced today.
