Bhubaneswar: Ever since the story of the sex video featuring a young couple has caught the eyeballs of people across age groups in Odisha and elsewhere, the beleaguered ‘lovebirds’ have stood firm in the turbulent times.

The accused – Aditya Raj – who is in trouble for the leaked sex video has cried foul over the incident. The young boy has come to the defence of his girlfriend besides pleading innocence.

According to reports, Aditya has confessed before police that both were in a relationship and the video was recorded two years ago with mutual consent. However, the video was transferred to other device without their knowledge, he told police, adding that the clip was in possession of both.

Aditya also told police that the video was saved in his mobile phone which he used earlier and might have got leaked while he had given the device for repairing, reports said.

While recording her statement before police under Section 161 of the CrPC, the girl also agreed about her relationship with Aditya. However, she feigned ignorance about the clip going viral, reports added.

Aditya has been arrested after a case was registered at the Khandagiri police station. He was produced before court and sent to judicial custody in Jharpada jail here after his bail plea was rejected.

Aditya, a fourth year B.Tech student hailing from Ranchi, was earlier detained by police for his alleged involvement in circulating the sex video on WhatsApp.

The video, which was recorded on selfie mode, contains sexually explicit content featuring Aditya and his girlfriend studying in the same city-based private engineering college.
